Back to 1975

Chris Booth

A bit of nostalgia for all who were at TC around the mid 1970s.

Ron Clark, who was in Studio Planning at the time, has sent scans of Daily Duty Sheets and Studio Allocations for the end of August 1975.

Reading them brings back many familiar names, both programmes and people.  It also shows what a lot was going on…

And forward to 1994

Albert Barber

I was wondering what was going on in the present day and wondered if anyone knew.
Perhaps there is nothing like it now.

John Howell

I have a Lines Booking Sheet for 9th July 1994 and a lot was certainly going on then.  Admittedly, it was a Saturday,  but there were 23 pages of bookings for just the one day.

To give you a flavour (and omitting the regular daily feeds):

  • World Cup Football from Dallas (first 4 pages!)
  • Silverstone Grand Prix
  • Benson & Hedges Cricket Final from Lords
  • Tour de France from ITN
  • This Is The Day OB at Orkney feeding to Bermondsey
  • The Currah  from RTE feeding into Grandstand

Close-down was at 25:05!
