Peter at work

In the mid-sixties Peter was a cameraman on crew 5, led by Jim Atkinson. One day Peter found he had a short end of 8mm film to use up on his home film camera. He took the camera to work – a dangerous thing in those days, as any private photography in the studios was banned, with strong penalties.  Here’s the result – a few seconds from behind the scenes in TC4 on 3rd July 1966 with the members of crew 5 and very briefly director Herbie Wise, followed by a pan round the crew in the canteen.

Featured are Jim, director Herbie Wise, Geoff Clarke (with an experimental ped steering ring), Doug Puddifoot, and Rod Taylor on the Mole crane. In the canteen are John Dailley, Geoff, some people I don’t recognise, Rod Taylor, more people I don’t recognise, and Jim licking his roll-up.  A little piece of history.
