I was amazed to see that Sainsbury’s are currently (October 2017) selling 12in. LPs, and that “The Wall” by Pink Floyd is priced at £25! Other offerings from £15 to £20. I’m sure I never paid more than 37/6d. for one!

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that back in the day, records were subject to RPM, Retail Price Maintenance. Big business wasn’t running the world then.
