From Roger Bunce
“They may look like a bunch of gangsters but this is Crew 16 in 1967, while working on a series of Conan Doyle’s short stories; here posed outside Riverside Studio 3.
Actually, the BBC only owned two studios at Hammersmith Riverside, known as R1 and R2. R3 was the nickname for the nearby pub!
The nickname became so well established that the sign “Studio 3” appeared on the door. I’m told that the original of this photo still hangs inside the pub. Featuring John Smith, Ken Major, Stewart Lindley, Brian White (alias “Black Jake”), Bob McFarlane, Roger Bunce, John Hayes, Dave Denness, Keith Bowden, John (then “Jim”) Corby and Eddie Brandon.”
