Anyone got one and can comment on it in general use? They look very impressive in the shop, but I’ve learned that this may not transfer into total satisfaction when viewing a wider variety of programmes like one does at home.

I bought an LG 55′ OLED TV last April (2016), and I’m still just as delighted by it.
The only downsides:
1. The pictures, especially in UHD, are stunning and encourage watching the TV too much!
2. Lesser quality pictures transmitted are made more clearly wanting, just as great sound systems show up clearly sound sources which is of poor quality.
Changing to OLED picture with the blackest of blacks, and accurate picture quality, reminds me of when I first heard Quad electrostatic speakers in 1964!
Also, I know we 3D TV viewers are regarded as strange, but the 3D pictures on this TV are the most comfortable to watch, and the most exciting, I have ever seen. The glasses are passive and cheap (around £1 to £2), in contrast to those of my retired Panny, at £100 a pair, and are light to wear. It is worth considering 3D if only to really enjoy the films presented by David Attenborough. Now there is a man who started making radio programs using an EMI ‘L’ reel to reel portable recorder, and has always had a very open mind, and is very involved in 3D and surround sound productions, all of them very much worth watching.
OLED pictures are beautiful given good source material, and I am constantly thrilled by my OLED set.
