A Kit to construct a one twelfth scale model of a EMI Colour Camera was created by Bernie Newnham , the originator of and driving force behind the BBC Tech Ops website.
This kit , containing high quality print ous of the EMI 2001 camera and Vinten Hydraulic pedestal complete with items needed to construct the camera as shown is available for a donation to a charity chosen by Bernie.
The EMI 2001 was introduced in to the BBC TV Centre in early 1968 and was widely regarded as the ‘Cameramans’s Camera’ and was used for many, many BBC Productions. The last programme in the world to use the EMI 2001 for recordiing was EastEnders in July 199.
