from Tony Nuttall
In my early teens I spent hours in the Watford library devouring books on the making of tv. Some of the pictures became endlessly familiar as they were the only ones of the very first days at Alexandra Palace, or “Elexaundra Pelece”, as it apparently was pronounced by BBC people of the time. Tony has found them again in a book called “Adventure in Vision” by John Swift, published in 1950, which you can get from Amazon in 2009 – well worth a read.
