I seem to recall that Presentation (NC?) used to cross-fade from the globe symbol to the start of Start Trek (on TK).

That, at the time, was really cool ….

As a former Presentation chap I am delighted to hear someone actually liked what we used to do!!

I remember long ago when BBC Sport programmes were introduced pictorially by a globe surrounded by about 6 multicoloured satellites.

The satellites orbited the globe representing the Earth.

For a short time the globe rotated the wrong way so that the sun would have risen in the west and set in the east.

The mistake was never mentioned anywhere but I presume that some viewer somewhere noticed the basic error and the Earth was made to spin in the right direction.

I still have the golf umbrella with the globe and satellites printed on it.

I never thought I’d see this on air again (2014)….lovely.

Albert Barber

It reminded me of those happy days in NC2 when I was Network Director with Clive Roslyn.
