TO 25, sixty years on

Robin Sutherland

Sixty years ago today, 25th April 1966, I was among a group of young blokes arriving at Wood Norton to join TO Course 25. I know some of the other members of that group are on this forum so sending greetings to Dave Beer, John Nottage, Chris Woolf and Barry Wilkinson and possibly others I can’t recall.

I’m still in touch with Ken Gow in Scotland. Also remembering Bernie Newnham who sadly didn’t quite make it this far.

I’l be meeting up with John Hawes for a lunchtime pint today to celebrate so Cheers chaps! Photo taken on 40th Anniversary of John Nottage,me,Bernie Newnham and John Hawes.

Dave Beer

Thanks for the reminder Robin. It seems only yesterday! Enjoy your pint, (or two) I’ll be with you in spirit.

Barry Wilkinson

Barry Joyce, Richard Douglas Green. My almost twin Barry led me along my career path to end up on tv news. He is just about alive in Kidderminster after surviving prostate cancer. I am on my own now living near Grange over Sands in Cumbria. Us two Barrys keep in regular contact , usually talking about the old days… like you do.

Chris Woolf

Yes, TO25 was pretty good stuff – and a goodly number still here, and even enjoying life!

I’m a tad too far away in Cornwall to join in London-based frolics, but value the Tech Ops site for news.
