Alan Bermingham

John Rossetti

It is with much regret and sadness that I pass on a message from John Bermingham today that his father Alan has recently died. Alan was a long term friend and TV lighting guru, senior lecturer at BBC Wood Norton he will be sadly missed by many in our industry, many who owe their careers to Alan.

Peter Neill

I’m sure that nearly all of us will have come in contact with Alan at Woodnorton.

Dave Newbitt

Agree wholeheartedly with the attached remarks, he was a really nice guy and perfect in his role.

Hugh Snape

Oh dear, I’m very sorry to hear that sad news. Alan joined TSW in the mid ’80’s and I enjoyed working with him many times. He sometimes surprised the electricians on the crew because of his sophisticated lighting techniques but the results were always excellent.

Tony Grant

What a good friend and mentor he was. Many years ago we were doing some form of lighting workshop/ training session together, and Alan said something that i had no idea about, and i said, “I didn’t know that’ to which he replied with a smile ‘Yes you do, because I taught you, so you must have simply forgotten!’

Too many friends who lit up our lives have left us, thanks for the memories Alan,
