LSO, Play for Today, Blue Peter, Play School, NC1 Pres A and B
from Doug Coldwell
Doug has been rooting around in the loft and found an old shoebox containing lots of slides taken on Anscochrome and Perutz Colour. It’s an excellent find..
Here is Doug – the one in the middle – in 1987, doing his best to look like the lead violinist for a performance of Gershwin by the London Symphony Orchestra
This is a Play for Today in 1965, in TC1. Seems sort of odd to see a set from monochrome days in colour.
A different view, some ten-lights and a monitor in the foreground. Below is a Mole crain, but I don’t know who it is on the front.
This is Blue Peter in 1980, with cameramen Dave Skerry on the left and Rodney Taylor on the right.
Here’s a Blue Peter bell ringing set up in the TC front car park. Brian White is the cameraman
…and Doug at the same place
Another view
Doug is joined by John Farr (in “that jacket”)
Two views of the Blue Peter garden in 1979, Martin Kempton on the Vinten, with floor manager Derek Kibble just beyond the camera.
and Rod Taylor and probably Roger Goss on the left of this one.
Two views of the Playschool set in 1980, both featuring Peter Langford
Note the line up chart, and a studio VT clock.
This is NC1, the BBC1 transmission control room in 1966
Presentation Studio A in 1966, when it was monochrome and didn’t have a proper vision mixer
And Pres B from the same time
A rather strange cameraman. This is TC1 camera 1 in 1966, an EMI 203.
