Crew 13, TOTP and Vernon Dyer

From Bill Jenkin and Colin Rix

Peanut Pay Structure too Costly – Bananas “more appropriate” say Management.

Attached photo of Crew 13 cameras, from Colin Rix.

Bill says: “I am told by Colin that it was taken during a Yehudi Menuin Masterclass.

The individuals are (l to r) Colin Rix, Peter Ware, Brian Holloway, Derek Lambourne, John Longley, Mike Harrison, Andrew Mott.

The Cameraman was ‘borrowed’ from the ring road. It must have been taken after the arrival of the Link 110 cameras (about 1978?) and before Peter Ware retired (1982?).”

From Vernon Dyer

Top of the Pops around 1967, probably Studio G Lime Grove, the young Vernon on camera 5

ditto – it’s an EMI 203 black and white 4.5 inch image orthicon camera with a four lens turret, for those who like that stuff.
The girls behind are wearing the miniskirt style popular in that era (and any other), and especially popular with TOTP cameramen on very low cameras as demonstrated

Vernon again, (quite) a few years later, apparently with added wig!

(Personally, I can’t resist saying “Bernie, the bolt please”)

also from Vernon, a Crew 3 Christmas card

and another version of Harry Goodwin’s TOTP group shot, with
Alan Machin, Al Kerridge, Chris Wickham, Mike Conder, Dave Brook, Don McQuistan, John Hoare, Ian Perry, Bob Powell, Chris Maurice, Vernon, Rob Sutherland, John Mulver, Ron Peverall, and two unknown ladies not on Crew 3
