I came across this interesting clip of Cliff Michelmore anchoring the 1966 Election coverage as they came back on the air early morning after a break. Nice studio action and a bleary Michelmore enters carrying a coil of his own mic cable.

Could that be a Mole Crane – probably need to see it moving… if not, what? I think it took the opening shot. Any other suggestions?

Yes it was a Mole. There was also a Heron used in the studio. I worked on one of the shifts.
