[Tech1] Beatles, Abbey Road? B&W Scanner? When?

Here’s the answer to your question about the scanner ident John Cox.

This from Nick Gilbey, confirmed by Brian Summers.

There is quite a simply explanation to the picture anomaly of MCR28. The picture on the right is not of MCR28 but MCR22. MCR22 was destined for Bristol but kept by London. The West Region had to wait until MCR28 arrived before it got one of the new scanners. Brian sent me the notes about this. A bit of new sign writing undertaken

At some point in the production run of the scanners, the steps for roof access were moved across nearer the offside so the open rear door didn’t cover them.

Attached some fascinating memos about My World, also from Nick Gilbey. I had wondered about the hand held camera evident in shot on the YouTube videos [camera left of the balloons].

Also great to get details of the Bristol camera crew and Dave Gautier’s presence from London.

Cheers

Robin S
