Wiki has an article about Left Bank Two.

It was composed in 1963 by Wayne Hill, recorded by a group of Dutch session musicians called The Noveltones and released as the ’B’ side of a disk of De Wolfe library music. No prizes for guessing that Left Bank One was to be found on the ’A’ side of that disc.

Following its popularity on Vision On, it was re-released as a 7” single in the 1970s, but this time the ‘A’ side was Left Bank Two, while Left Bank One became the ‘B’ side.

Subsequent projects included the installation of an induction loop for the cinema/TV room at Glebelands, the residential home for cinema veterans, which I heard is no longer. Also a sound system for Christopher’s – a hospice for life limited children, as music is apparently a useful therapy.

It was a great tribute to Patrick Dowling that he placed great importance on the sound content of a programme for the deaf! Our children, both with normal hearing, absolutely loved it and quite a few adults were hooked. Even today “Left Bank Two” strikes a chord with lots of people.
