My local airfield is Kemble
They have 10 -15 747s at present ,all lined up on the Peri Track.
A friend in the next village to us converts Passenger 747 to Freight, no mean job with a hinged nose for access
Most will be stripped down 
Their engines are in demand and lie on air freight able pallets
Its a sad sight, similar to tankers on the beach in Bangladesh at Coxs Bazzar, though nowhere near as hazardous for the scrappers.
