Hi Dave,

Don't have a broad enough experience to recommend one media player over 
another, but for YouTube downloads I find 4K Video Downloader excellent and 
incredibly simple to use. Free version is here

I am still sticking with W7 as long as possible as all my HDs are quite
small! AVC Pro I have (plus crack) and I use all the time to convert and
d/l YouTube videos and convert .vobs to one continous movie.
