Even though 93 is a damn good innings it’s still very sad news. Most of us will have worked with him on some of his iconic comedy series - his achievements are well documented and will doubtless be acknowledged in the fulsome manner they thoroughly deserve. Over that though wasn’t he such a nice and pleasant man? I certainly found him enormously likeable and I’m sure I’m not alone. It would be nice if some among us might remember the time before his production career when he was a cameraman and perhaps could recount an anecdote or two?

And news I see of Colin Reid on the same day. Another genuinely great guy (was on his crew for a time). Didn’t know him well but feel saddened nevertheless.
