Very sad news indeed.  I was there at the very start of Geoff's tv Presentation career and - indeed - that of Sue also.  My future wife, Meg, and I were once among the happy guests at their wedding in Ealing.  Professionally, Geoff was at the very top of the tree - clear, concise - the ultimate safe pair of hands and a most reassuring presence in my earpiece.  Socially he was a delight and we shared the same sense of irreverent humour that was not always appreciated by Management!  To me, Geoff was part of that Golden Age of Presentation before computers took over and he was one of the very best.   RIP Geoff and happy memories.  Best wishes and love also to Sue. Sue Howard (neé Bird) has been in touch to let us know that Geoff Howard passed away yesterday morning at 11.30 am (Sydney time).  Geoff had been on a complicated medical journey over the past few years and died in his relatively new home at the Belrose Country Club from a stroke whilst waiting for a taxi to take him to dialysis.  No funeral date has yet been set.
We have lost a good friend and one of the best voices to ever grace BBC output.  A true loss.
