Thank you for passing on this very sad news. It's been a long time since 
my days in NC1 with Geoff but memories still linger. Geoff must have 
been having a tough time but this seemed untimely.

I write bearing sad news.
Sue Howard (neé Bird) has been in touch to let us know that Geoff Howard 
passed away yesterday morning at 11.30 am (Sydney time).  Geoff had been 
on a complicated medical journey over the past few years and died in his 
relatively new home at the Belrose Country Club from a stroke whilst 
waiting for a taxi to take him to dialysis.  No funeral date has yet 
been set.
We have lost a good friend and one of the best voices to ever grace BBC 
output.  A true loss.
Sue is a member of this email group.
I hope and trust you are all keeping safe and well.
