"After nearly 30 years in 'mainstream' television I
found that making Dramas as films -"lets just do that once more and
from a different angle"- was getting tedious after a life of more or
less live television and as we were spending more and more time
servicing TPC at Lime Grove Studios, I decided to join them full
time. It was back to the world of television as I used to know it,
a small unit where everyone drank with everyone else, no (or very
