"Block up to 100% of nuisance calls" – is a fairly safe claim. That could be anything from 1 to 100, but couldn’t be any more. Advertising gobble-de-gook!<\/p>\n

I’m only amused by the up to 100% quote. I’m sure it does what it says – it has to these days to satisfy the legal experts. The cynic in me sees through advertising stuff like that – worked on far too many commercials over the years, sadly, many of which in the bad old days were blatantly dishonest.<\/p>\n

A classic one:
\nUsing a rival cider product for the close-ups, because it looked better on camera than their own.<\/p>\n

Another:
\nMolly Weir (a long time ago!) demonstrating a kitchen floor cleaning product. Ends with split screen showing before and after. It didn’t look any different, so we broke for lunch, and when we came back they’d covered the ‘clean’ side with perspex to catch the light! <\/p>\n

I’ve always hated commercials, and adverts in general.<\/p>\n

I forget which News and Current Affairs programme we used to do, one of those in TC7. It had pretend blue-screen windows in the background. The exterior view wasn’t looped. It came live, from a camera on the roof. So, the weather and time of day was always correct. It worked well enough, until a pigeon came and perched right in front of the camera lens, looming like a gigantic monster over the studio guests!<\/p>\n
