\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Crikey. Where there really that many versions of the ‘large’ AVO?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I think this is just a collection of some of the many varieties. I don’t know much about the large type (I have a smaller AVO 12D 81\/1, ex-Post Office).<\/p>\n\n\n\n In my pre BBC days I used the big ones a lot when working in the R&D labs at GEC Wyton back in 1961 – 1963. A nice piece of kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They were still on sale new up until recently \u2013 and may still be. At something like 600 quid. A bit like a 4038 mic – something every collector of such things has to have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I’ve got one (Model 8) – in its beautiful real leather case.
