I wonder if anyone from OBs knows any thing\u2013 about a LIVE OB from the Talyllyn Railway in the Summer of 1957.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presenters were Wynford Vaughan-Thomas and Huw Wheldon (big guns indeed), and who were interrupted at one point by a flock of sheep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a sequence from this OB about half way through \u201cThe Golden Age of Steam Railways – 1. Small is Beautiful\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although it was 5 years before I joined the BBC in London this programme was talked about on odd occasions during time I spent at BBC Wales(1977 – 1998).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe the unit was MCR 9 known then as the Wales & West OB Unit with Marconi Mark III  4 1\/2 inch Image Orthicon tubes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the cameramen ( the one on the left of your still) was Les Ager now (in 2015) 90 years old and living in Llandudno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
