Hugh Griffith and Felix Aylmer were in  \u201cThe Walrus and the Carpenter\u201d.  I remember this from my days on Crew 7 with Mike Bond (I think), but there was apparently a bit of conflict between Marty Feldman and Barry Took, the writers, and Tom Sloan, then Head of Comedy.  It wasn’t re-commissioned, but laid the foundations for ‘Last of the Summer Wine’.  <\/p>\n

Sadly \u201cThe Walrus and the Carpenter\u201d was destroyed, so there’s no record it ever existed.<\/p>\n

I remember watching it.  The last scene of one episode (possibly the last) was (if I recall correctly) a high angle zoom out to wide shot of the actors standing next to a public convenience.<\/p>\n

In 1969 I was production designer on \u201cThe Siegfried Idyll\u201d, which we filmed in Switzerland and Germany, and also on the stage at Ealing.<\/p>\n
