As I recall, Terry Wogan\u2019s ‘wand mic’ was constructed of a car radio aerial, with a Sony ECM 50 or similar, araldited to the end.  I think the cable was threaded down the inside to a radio mic transmitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naughty Kenny Everett grabbed it during one show and bent it in two!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pat\u2019s quite right, Wogan\u2019s Wand was originally a car aerial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUT The American Show on which \u201cBlankety Blank\u201d was modelled (\u201cThe Match Game\u201d) used a genuine Sony telescopic mic – the ECM 51.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
