Here are a couple of reminders of “Diary of a Young Man” that you may find interesting. The Senior Cameraman had yet to have his name on the front of the script: it was of course Reg Poulter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I  missed working on most of the series as I was at Evesham on TO19 until mid July, and briefly with Crew 12 on returning to TC before rejoining Crew 4. The last episode was shot on September 8th and 9th 1964 in TC4. I tracked a creeper on that one. There was a bigger than usual end of series booze-up at the Club afterwards as it doubled as Tim Healey’s stag do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camera Script cover pages were always full of spelling mistakes of one sort or another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve just typed up all the script cover crew lists for \u201cZ Cars\u201d in 1967 and Lighting Supervisor Keith Eddelsen caused no end of spelling problems.  I\u2019m not sure now how it should <\/i>be spelled as I have about ten different variations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s also an actor named Derek Chafer who also had a \u201cbest guess of the week\u201d approach to name spelling.  I think I\u2019m up to 20+ spellings on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the Duty Schedule for July 1964 and the Staff List of January 1968 has Keith as “Edelsten”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another amusing facet is to say the incorrect spelling aloud, then consider the accent of the person concerned.  It can suggest that he or she passed their name on vocally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
