Seems as though you might have missed the ‘Prehensile Toe Mixing Course’! Probably designed for 48 channel desks and not enough fingers.(Don’t ask what operates the main fader!).<\/p>\n

Looks to me like \u201cSaturday Superstore\u201d or \u201cGoing Live!\u201d The 6 red ‘phone line on-air’ lights are sitting over the first 6 channels. It’s quite a busy programme because there are two Glensound units on the desk, a mixer on the left and extra channels on the right.<\/p>\n

There are a couple of Pye Compressor\/Limiters over the right-hand wing alongside an Effects Unit,  possibly an Audio Delay or Reverb. There appears to be 2 Sennheiser 4-way Radio Diversity Receivers piggy-backed over the source jackfield.<\/p>\n

I have just two thoughts on seeing this picture…<\/p>\n

Where on earth did I get those shoes? And at least there isn’t a coffee on the desk.<\/p>\n

Yes, it looks to me like TC7 and judging by the phone-in lamps over the first few channels it is Saturday morning children’s, \u201cSaturday Superstore\u201d, \u201cGoing Live\u201d or \u201cLive and Kicking\u201d. My guess is \u201cSaturday Superstore\u201d, as in later years we did not have the additional mixer on the desk unless there was an SOA "Studio Outside Activity". Something happening on tie-lines from somewhere else on Television Centre.<\/p>\n

I must thank John Howell for my long relationship with Saturday mornings. He was acting Sound Organiser at the time and Trevor Webster, allocated to mix one Saturday morning, was feeling poorly and going home on the Friday afternoon. I had been due to sub-mix sport from overseas but John invited me, late on Friday, to go to TC7 instead. In effect I walked in on Saturday morning and mixed the show completely blind and unrehearsed. Very fortunately, the show went extremely well from my point of view and what followed was a very happy 11 or 12 year spell.<\/p>\n
