Will an AXBT do?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Alec Bray<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Whenever I was sent to the Stores for Camera Tape, I would get a baleful stare and be given one roll \u2013 however many I had been asked to get. However, one day I went to Stores to get Camera Tape (amongst other things). &nbsp;It was the morning of the 1966 General Election (31 March 1966): Studio 4 had an ICL mainframe running (the previous election had used an Elliot 803) and the there was a six foot high, four foot wide grey box which was a caption generator (as I recall).&nbsp; Anyway, I was in Stores (working for a completely different programme), asked for Camera Tape and got given a complete BOX of rolls of tape!&nbsp; Good stuff, camera tape!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Bill Jenkin, Pat Heigham<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Was anyone actually ever sent to stores for a black level clamp? &nbsp;Or a &#8216;peak white clipper&#8217; !<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Alasdair Lawrance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A memo came round about removing the pedestal from the output &#8211; there used to be a 2 percent &#8216;lift&#8217; of black level on all video.<\/p>\n<p>Again in Cardiff, we packed up a stage weight in a cardboard box with a label to send it to redundant stores, showed the memo to the store man and left&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Nobody ever knew what happened.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Geoff Hawkes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>My worst experience on Sound came when I was sent to stores on the second floor of TC as it was then, for a swan-neck mic extension. I\u2019d failed to ask which type of mic it was for and the storeman sent me back with a goose-neck instead. <\/p>\n<p>At that time I didn\u2019t know the difference but suffered a severe telling-off from an exasperated SA1 (no names mentioned) for incompetence because I\u2019d got it wrong.
