It was made in 1959 by Richard Cawston and is a look at a day in the life of the BBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(If you haven&#8217;t seen &#8220;This is the BBC&#8221;, find it <a href=\"http:\/\/tech-ops.co.uk\/next\/?p=20193\">here<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"767\" height=\"576\" src=\"http:\/\/tech-ops.co.uk\/next\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/bunce_laurie1_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16076\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tech-ops.co.uk\/next\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/bunce_laurie1_large.jpg 767w, http:\/\/tech-ops.co.uk\/next\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/bunce_laurie1_large-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 100vw, 767px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laurie Duley on the front of the Mole on &#8220;Mother Courage&#8221; a play directed by Rudolph Cartier in Studio D Lime Grove (I think). The camera is a Marconi Mk3, and the out of focus fellow in the foreground is the tracker of the motorised Vinten crane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>[Ed:&nbsp; &#8220;Mother Courage &#8221; was broadcast on 30th June 1959.&nbsp; Lime Grove Studio D had changed from Marconi Mk IIIs to CPS Emitrons in 1956, so the location is more likely to have been Riverside studio R1&nbsp; as it had Marconi Mk III cameras at this time.
