The author of these pages is me, Mike Jones, sometime Sound Supervisor and
later on Head of Studio Management. I was moved to compile this site because
there was next to nothing written about outside rehearsal, either as a process
or as a record of the countless places where productions rehearsed programmes
from 1937 to the present day. I was also driven by the knowledge that Television
Rehearsal Rooms in North Acton were to be pulled down, and with it would vanish
so many memories of a BBC facility which served so well the needs of programme
makers.
Just a brief note on copyright. I have sought to obtain copyright clearance
for any of the pictures and text I have used, but the response has been very
disappointing, despite much time and effort, almost nobody has responded. If
any of the materials on this site are your copyright and you are concerned about
my use of them, please let me know at the email address below.
In fact feel free to contact me via email if you have any comments, corrections
or additions.
